- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 3/4 cup water
- 4-5 cups fresh mixed berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
- 1-2 tablespoons lime juice
- ice to serve
SIMPLE SYRUP: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 3/4 cup of water and bring to a boil. Allow the sugar to dissolve completely. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
In a blender, combine the berries, 1/2 of simple syrup, lime juice (to taste) and 2 cups of water. Blend until the berries breakdown completely. Pour the remaining 2 cups of water into a serving pitcher and strain the blended berry mixture through a strainer into the same pitcher. Stir to combine. Adjust lime juice and simple syrup to preference. We needed all of the simple syrup as our berries weren't very sweet. Serve over lots of ice.
- If you'd like to make this with frozen berries, you can! Just thaw the berries completely before adding them to the blender as the frozen berries will turn this into something more similar to a smoothy than berry agua frescas!
